The ZAM Steel, better feature but cheaper material than HDG Steel

 The ZAM steel is new material which is very hot sale in recent years, it has been used in many large PV projects of our customers.


ZAM steel is short for Hot-dip Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium alloy-coated steel, which is a highly corrosion-resistant coated steel with a coating composition of Zinc as the main substrate in combination with Aluminum, Maganesium and a trace amount of Silicon.


It had been developed successfully in foreign steel mill of Japan ( "ZAM" brand), European ( ZM EcoProtect, MagiZinc), Australia ( ZINCALUME) etc.


The difference between HDG steel and ZAM steel is:

HDG steel processing: steel belt-forming-galvanizing ( after galvanizing)


ZAM steel: processing - forming ( pre-galvanizing)

The ZAM Steel can be produced to be end clamp solar, mid clamp solar， PV mounting rail, etc. it’s widely use to pv solar mounting system metal roof structure, solar ballasted roof mounting systems, solar system ground mounts.

  Grounding PV modules  to reduce or eliminate shock and fire hazards is necessary and required by Electrical Code in countries in USA, Australia etc. The grounding guidelines of the Code es sentially state that all electrical equipment is to be grounded by means of direct attachment to an equipment grounding conductor. How to install solar panels on corrugated metal roofing | sic-solar.com

  Can   solar panels   be mounted on a metal roof? For sure, metal roof is one of the best roof material to install solar panels, due to its durability and easy for installation. Either framed or frameless solar panels could be mounted, and the shadows of panels could keep your home cool during the summer. The Metal roof have various types. The corrugated steel roof is the basic type, which you can see everywhere. To fix solar panels on it, the solar mounting brackets need to penetrate the roof sheet and fix into the wooden or steel beam directly by screws or hanger bolts. Details as follow. 1.  L feet+self-tapping screws 2.  L feet+Solar hanger bolt L feet is widely used for its high adaptability, which do not have request on the size of metal roof sheet. For some project, below alu clamp will be developed to better adapt with the corrugated steel roof. But it is not proposed due to its unique adaptability.
