How to install solar panels on corrugated metal roofing | sic-solar.com

 Can solar panels be mounted on a metal roof? For sure, metal roof is one of the best roof material to install solar panels, due to its durability and easy for installation. Either framed or frameless solar panels could be mounted, and the shadows of panels could keep your home cool during the summer.


The Metal roof have various types. The corrugated steel roof is the basic type, which you can see everywhere. To fix solar panels on it, the solar mounting brackets need to penetrate the roof sheet and fix into the wooden or steel beam directly by screws or hanger bolts. Details as follow.

L feet is widely used for its high adaptability, which do not have request on the size of metal roof sheet. For some project, below alu clamp will be developed to better adapt with the corrugated steel roof. But it is not proposed due to its unique adaptability.

  Grounding PV modules  to reduce or eliminate shock and fire hazards is necessary and required by Electrical Code in countries in USA, Australia etc. The grounding guidelines of the Code es sentially state that all electrical equipment is to be grounded by means of direct attachment to an equipment grounding conductor. This can be done in many different ways. The traditional method is to use the ground bond point of each  solar panel  and connect all the panels together with heavy gauge bare copper wire.
